Companies operate in an unstable, unpredictable and complex environment. Many events occur unanticipated, causing significant disruption to business activity to companies that do not have sufficient cash flow or are not agile enough to deal with it. In most cases, it appears that companies' operations are not agile and flexible enough to adapt to a VUCA world. Operational agility in itself is about making the existing products better, faster, cheaper and so on for existing customers. It includes a capacity to continuously assess opportunities, make hard choices, opt not to compete in some areas, set and act on iterative targets, and learn from the results. COLLABORATION

What differentiates an agile enterprise from a traditional bureaucratic company is the radical culture of collaboration among the people within it. Remember that companies are built by people, not by teams, departments or functional areas.


Cultural change is the main challenge during Agile transformation initiatives. Therefore, when focusing on the collaboration between people that is essential to making any agile initiative a success, patience is key and employees should be given them the time and support they need during the journey. At least until they achieve success (or failure) at the end of the process when the pros and cons of the new way of working can be analyzed and can adjust their current behaviours to the new ones.

That’s why the lack of coordination between the teams and entities that make up the company is a hindrance to Agility. When two departments are not coordinated and synchronized, the information is not fluid, does not reach all entities, which results in heavy silos, which in turn prevents innovation, flexibility and development. A problem is observed in many medium to large companies.
